Tuning in: why Alpine Frequency exists
A weekly signal for the valley — what's actually on, who's behind it, and why the music matters up here.

Every mountain town has a soundtrack. In Chamonix it changes with the seasons: brass and choirs in the church in autumn, a speaker on a sun terrace at 2,000 metres in March, a vinyl set somewhere on rue des Moulins at one in the morning.
The information about all of that is scattered. The tourist office lists hundreds of events, most of them for families and visitors. Venues post on Instagram the day before. Festivals announce dates months ahead and line-ups weeks ahead. Seasonal workers find out about the good nights by word of mouth — usually the morning after.
What we do
This Week in Chamonix is our core: a short, checked list of what's worth knowing about in the valley over the next seven days. Every listing links to the original source and shows the date we last checked it. If a detail isn't confirmed, we say so.
Around it we write about electronic culture — the DJs, rooms, records and festivals that shape the scene — and about the people and places that make the valley more than a ski resort.
What we won't do
- We won't invent events to fill a quiet week. Some weeks are quiet. October, between seasons, is one of them.
- We won't imply a partnership that doesn't exist. Listing a venue is an editorial choice, not a deal.
- We'll always label anything promotional — including news about events organised by our own team.
The Alps have a frequency. We're just trying to help you find it.
